A proper outdoor day
Hiking is a physical outdoor activity with real risks. Expect uneven and slippery ground, steep sections, chalk and flint underfoot, changeable weather, livestock and road crossings. The Zig-Zag climb is the section to respect.
You take part at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety, your own kit and your own fitness for a 4.8 mile walk. We cross the River Mole on the footbridge rather than the stepping stones. If you choose to leave the group route or cross the stones anyway, that is your own decision and your own risk.
Getting there
Anyone driving or getting themselves to Box Hill travels entirely at their own risk. We are not matching anyone with anyone. Anything arranged between attendees is entirely between them. The Apprentice Hike and Sprout do not organise, vet, insure or take responsibility for lifts between attendees. We are not responsible for any vehicle, journey, parking or incident.
Organised transport is run by a third party operator with its own insurance.
What we are
We are not a guided or professional mountain leadership service. Leaders are volunteers from the community.
To the extent permitted by law, The Apprentice Hike and Sprout accept no liability for injury, illness, loss or damage to property. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law.
